‘‘Minette‘‘ keeping watch on family home.

Cw is my main operating mode, from time to time on ssb mode, mainly on 40m and 80m with forays on 160m and all other hf bands .I enjoy chating in French and in English about home made equiments. My qth is 70 kms west of Paris, half way between Paris and Rouen, located on top of a hill overlooking the valley of the river Seine.

- All my equipments are home made kits or home brew designs.

- My setup is 10w K2 Elecraft kit (sn 3915) + KAT2 ATU kit (built-in) + DSP kit (KDSP2 built-in) + internal A123/Life 4 A battery built in. (Charged thanks to a 20w portable solar panel with sun tracking).

- External 100w PA kit (KPA100) + 100 w ATU (KAT100) kit, both built-in EC2 cabinet. (on the middle of the upper shelf, see the following picture).

- Solid state, 30 bands receiver 1-31mhz, all modes. (Made it 42 years ago.)

- Mobile 80/40 m transceiver, full BK PIN diodes switched, 'very high level mixer; to the left of the K2 (on the general view picture), with home brew mobile aerial.

- Here is one of the thirteen plug-in boards of the mobile home brew tranceiver.

- I experimented a Small Wonder Labs SW40 - 2w 40m full bk cw kit, 10cm x 7 cm board, lot of fun ! (to build and to use).

I modified it adding N3ZI DDS2 kit - added AGC and adjustable SCAF (500 hz/1500hz bandwith) and a10 w german "QRP PA 2008" kit adjusted to 5w. - At Xms time i added an Elecraft T1 kit, automatic 20w qrp antenna tuner, a 2w audio amplifier with 2 small 2w loudspeakers . All boards are in a 195 mm x 135 x 40 mm cabinet.

- Main aerial is a double extended zepp, inverted V, apex 60 feet, (half wave on 80m) working all 9 hf bands, open wire (600 ohm) balanced feeder.

- Equipment fed from 75w solar panel, with solar tracking and 14v - 60 A A.G.M (Absorbed-Glass-Mat)battery + MPPT (maximum power point tracking) solar charging system.

- Keys: Vibroplex "Original" - Kent single paddle key / sideswiper - Electronic keyer inside K2 + DL Palm. Mini paddle key.

- home brew single paddle key with magnets and optical contacts. (In 2004, with F5CE a friend of mine, we designed this key, i wrote an article in '' La Pioche‘‘ the journal of U.F.T with all construction details, interesting key, no problems anymore with dirty contacts).
