Formerly WA7ELW, Although I did HF DX contesting for many years, I now enjoy VHF/UHF DXing and Contesting, WSJT, and PSK31/63, and have recently begun doing moonbounce (EME). I have been a ham since 1965 and was originally licensed as WN7ELW before upgrading. The antennas shown are 2m yagi(17 el 5wl 33ft boom), 222 yagi(23 el 7wl 32.5 ft boom), 432 yagi(28 el 9wl 21 ft boom)and 1296 loop yagi(55 el 19.8wl 15 ft boom) at the top. I am improving my antennas and building amplifiers to help my EME station. It is lots of fun working stations by bouncing the radio signal off the moon and back to earth.
I have worked in the Electrical Power industry in one capacity or another for 26 years and retired March 31st, 2010.

FM
For Field Day operating, FM is probably the easiest VHF mode to implement. You’ll have little trouble finding FM rigs to use; even a
hand-held transceiver can make a fine Field Day rig. FM doesn’t have the range of CW or SSB, but it is the most popular
communications mode on the VHF and UHF bands. You’ll find the greatest amount of FM simplex activity on the 2-meter band,
although 6 meter FM may be worth a try as well. Remember that Field Day rules prohibit the use of repeaters. This means you’ll
have to hunt for contacts on the recognized simplex frequencies.
