V.R.Z.A. CLUBSTATION "RIJNMOND" Afdeling 33
Hello to all and welcome to the Qrz page of the new clubstation of the Dutch Hamradio amateur club VRZA, dept. 33 section Rijnmond around and from Rotterdam to the coast. Section Rijnmond was a sleeping department of the VRZA radioamateur society, but was activated again in 2011 as number 33 of the list and we got the callsign PI4RM. We have almost 90 members in the area around Rotterdam.
We are still searching for a place to stay for our oncoming monthly social get together and maybe even more often when we find the right spot. Our final goal is a weekly gathering of Ham's and SWL amateurs to participate in several contests and antenna projects etc. in a local clubhouse with a seperate room for tranceivers and other equipment and a place to put up some antennas. Untill that time we're gonna start, once a month, in the livingroom (and beyond) of one of our members.
The first meeting is planned forJune 2012.
The first activation of the clubstation callsign PI4RM has already taken place by our dearest member and female operator Anneke PB7XYL in the January edition of the monthly VHF Dutch Locator contest.
The first HF operation has also taken place in February 2012 in the Dutch PACC. Operators in that contest were Peter PH7Y and Ruud PA9RD, as a multi-operator single transmitter station. It wasn't possible as a multi-multi station because the antennas were too close at eachother. At first fun was the most important thing and second to get our callsign known "around the world" and we must not forget the fact that the PACC is a Dutch contest so as a "newcomer" we had to do our best to get as many QSO's in the log as we could from DX stations as well as NL (club) stations, however they don't all count for a multiplier but only for a QSO point. But we tried to work everybody if they could hear or called us!
We hope we have worked you in the past PACC or we will work you in one of the next contests coming this year or in the near feature on whatever which band or mode!
