Welcome to the Samuel F Morse Amateur Radio Club Sacramento Valley, California Please join us for our Tuesday Night Club Nets held on 3.535 MHz at 7:30PMOr you can listen to them right here!
The Samuel F Morse club was formed by those that mainly enjoy CW. We wanted a way to bring others together who also have an interest in operating CW on-air and share the love of Field Day. Each year we get together and set up a modest field day operation In a public location. This location can be seen by clicking on the "detail" tab above and looking at the Google Map. Members also enjoy getting together in other locations to work portable QRO/QRP operations, test new antenna designs and ideas with each other. (Be sure to check out our announcements and videos at the bottom of this page. They will be updated frequently) The SMFARC objectives are as follows: 1. To provide leadership experiences through amateur radio 2. To promote education for persons interested in telecommunications. 3. To disseminate information about scientific discoveries and progress in the field 4. To train communicators for public service and emergency communications. 5. To assist those who are interested in obtaining or upgrading their license 6. To teach and promote the use of A1, CW Mode on the Amateur radio bands. 7. To provide support to the community in times of need. 8. To participate in community activities such as Field Day in order to help educate the public about amateur radio

The following is a LIVE FEED from the SFMARC (10 second delay)
As announced on our 2-7-2012 on-air Net meeting, the FCC has approved the new power, frequency and mode allocation for the 60 Meter band. This new ruling now allows Amateur operators use of CW mode for the very first time. Begining 5 March 2012, Please use the following table as your new 60 meter band reference guide.
THE FOLLOWING IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: CW Operation CW operation must take place at the center of your chosen channel. This means that your transmitting frequency must be 1.5 kHz above the suppressed carrier frequency as specified in the Report and Order (see Table 1). Operating at strict channel-center frequencies may come as a disappointment to many, but cooperating with the NTIA is key to expanded privileges in the future. The channel center frequencies are … Channel 1: 5332.0 kHz Channel 2: 5348.0 kHz Channel 3: 5358.5 kHz Channel 4: 5373.0 kHz Channel 5: 5405.0 kHz Consult your transceiver manual. Some transceivers transmit CW at the exact frequencies shown on their displays, but others offset the actual transmission frequency by a certain amount (for example, 600 Hz). If your manual is not clear on this point, contact the manufacturer. If you have access to a frequency counter, this is an excellent tool for ensuring that your CW signal is on the channel center frequency.
