Hello I am Tom, WB4LHR. I have been a licensed ham since 2004 and was first licensed as KI4IZS. My father was a Ham radio operator for 35 years, and I watched him with his radios from a young age and was always very interested in what he was doing. I would sit with him and listen as he checked in to nets and talked with his radio buddies and enjoyed every minute of it. I remember being fascinated with all of his certificates hanging on the wall and all of the QSL cards he had hanging on the wall from around the world. I eventually took the step and got my Technician license. After getting my license my nephew got interested and recieved his license in 2007, he is Will KI4WXL. I also have a brother that decided to get his ticket in 2007 and he is John KI4YTK. So ham radio is part of our family. My father became a silent key in December of 2009 and I have since recieved his call sign as my own, in memory of him. I passed my General exam in February and I am looking forward to all of the new operating privileges that come along with it. I do enjoy collecting QSL cards so if we talk you will most likely receive a card from me and I would appreciate a card in return. Thanks for taking the time to look at my page.

Shack is attached to garage in backyard. Tower is a Climatronics

30' aluminum fold over. On tower is an 11 element Cushcraft 2m beam

and a Jetstream 2m/440 vertical and a home made wire hanging on side.

On the mast attached to radio room is an Antron 99 Vertical.

This is my father and the original WB4LHR.

He was first licensed in 1974 as WN4LHR as a Novice.

He then upgraded to Technician and then General class

and was WB4LHR for around 34 years until he became a silent

key in 2009. He retired in 1997 after 42 years as a professional radio

broadcaster, and was a very good Amateur Radio operator.
